5 Budget-Friendly Make-Up Products That You Need to Own

We all want to have the trendy and bougie make-up. From Fenty to Lancôme to Morphe. We want to have the high-end name brand and have it propped up in our bathroom. But we also don’t want to spend $55 on a 16oz bottle of foundation or $75 for a three shade eyeshadow palette. When it comes to make-up you shouldn’t have to spend tons of money for good quality. Budget-friendly is something that everyone can really relate to.

With my interest in make-up growing over these past three years, so has my knowledge. Mostly when it comes to knowing which brands and products are worth the penny to spend on. Personally, I’ve rotated through many products to finally find what I like and can advocate for. So, I decided to share my finds with you guys. Keep in mind that I’ve been using these products or brands for some years now. So, it’s not like I am just saying a name to say a name.

So, here’s 6 budget-friendly make-up products that won’t hurt your bank account….

1. Milani Eyeshadow Primer

Budget Friendly primer

If you need a good eyeshadow primer and don’t want to spend $20 at Morphe, Milani is it. It’s a smooth application with no worry of your eyeshadow sliding off. Or it not standing out as well. This eyeshadow primer easily helps your color pop out on your skin more. Especially for the darker skinned women like me. It retails for $6.99 at Ulta. But you can also find it at Walmart, Target, and any other drugstore that sells make-up. By far it is one of the best budget-friendly eyeshadow primers that I have owned.

2. e.l.f Cosmetics Poreless Putty Primer & the entire brand

About a year or two ago, e.l.f Cosmetics came out with their new line of putty primers. These silk to the touch primers that just blend in to your skin flawlessly. Usually for the size and quantity of a primer it would retail for $20 and up. Maybe even $55 depending on the high end brand. But the putty primers give your skin a nice base to work with. There are three types of the primer; a satin finish, a luminous finish and a matte finish. With it retailing at $9. The eye putty primer comes in 5 finishes; white , cream, rose, clay, and black. With it retailing at $5. You can buy it from their website or from Ulta, Walmart, Target, and other drugstore that sells e.l.f Cosmetics. I have some high-end primers, but the putty primers are the best affordable option out there.

The e.l.f Cosmetics in general is a great budget-friendly brand. With the quality never really lacking for a “drugstore” brand. As well as their effort to be diverse in skin tone. My favorite product from them is the 16hr Camo Concealer. It’s medium to full coverage with a matte finish. It’s easily buildable and doesn’t slide off your face. Especially when my money is tight my go to’s are always in the e.l.f Cosmetics section.

3. NYX Matte Finish Long-Lasting Setting Spray

Budget-friendly

When it comes to setting sprays usually you’re paying such a high price for such a small bottle. There’s a few budget friendly and good quality setting sprays out there. The NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray is a great affordable buy. It does come out in more of a mist consistency than just like a spray bottle. For size and quality is it is at a great price. Retailing at $8.50 at Ulta, Walmart, and Target.

4. Affordable Eyeshadow Palettes: ColourPop Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palettes

When it comes to eyeshadow palettes , it seems like almost every brand wants to break out bank. Just $65 for a 12 pan palette. But that is such a ridiculous price for some eyeshadows. To me, ColourPop is a great brand and affordable brand to use. Their palettes range from $7 to $24. The pay off is very little. Each shadow blends flawlessly. With no extra effort , the color shows on every skin type. In my opinion, the lighter colors look a bit ashy on darker skinned people. But it’s not too bad to work with.

5. Affordable Lip Gloss: Maybelline Lifter Gloss

When it comes to a nice budget-friendly gloss, this Maybelline Lifter gloss is it. It gives a natural plump to your lips. And it isn’t like all those other lip plumper’s where they have to burn your lips off to work. All I felt when I used it was a slight tingle.

It’s a short post this week. Summer is here and I am fully tired and burnt out from this pandemic. Click around my site to check out the other posts I’ve done. Remember, May is Mental Health Awareness Month ,so take the time to do some research. Maybe you have a loved one that suffers from mental health. Donate to a charity and try to do your part to help end the stigma. As someone who is an advocate for mental health awareness and suffers from it, this month is always so important to me. Wanting to better yourself for the long run is something that just is important. And shouldn’t be looked over.
