Black History Month is coming to a close. But that doesn’t mean we have to stop supporting Black-Owned Businesses. Every year I find more and more new Black-Owned Businesses. And I love sharing it around. Always got to support these people and help get their name out there. Even if it is to only one person. Once you’re done reading this post, go check out each business. I love these brands and I hope you can as well. As I find more, I’ll make more posts to talk about them.

Tilly & Co. is a small business founded by Chantal McGreene (seen on right image). A young black woman who has a love for eccentric & colorful jewelry. Having the name originate from her nickname “Tilly”. She created this company in summer of 2019. At first she just posted her creativity through her crafts and fun arts. Soon she decided to use her hobby as another source of income. March 2021 she decided to create a brand out of her skills. Making a brand & a website all on her own.
So far, her Black-Owned Business is still a raging success. Creating a range of high quality, fun, funky, & eccentric jewelry. From necklaces, to rings, to earrings, to apparel. And just recently adding press on nails to her product list. I am lucky enough to have the pleasure to work with Tilly. Who is such a sweet, caring , & driven person. You can follow Tilly on Instagram , @tillyandco.

Founded by Nnenna Stella (first image), The Wrap Life is a high quality brand selling head wraps for the Black Community. Nnenna’s vision is to be the world’s most inclusive hair accessory brand offering products that are beautiful, functional, and intentionally designed. She started the company in Brooklyn, New York, in the garden apartment of a brownstone.
“If the Wrap Life can support our customers in growth and self expression by solving the little things, that’s a major contribution to someone’s life.”
Positive reviews raving about he quality of the wraps. Nnenna sees the style & use of headwraps to connect people together. So much that she doesn’t discourage on other non-Black people for wearing or even buying her products. If you’re looking for a great Black-Owned Business place to purchase head wraps. Whether it is turbans, small bandies, etc. go check out The Wrap Life.
Nappy Head Club came about from two sisters who realized and became fed up with the lack of representation of authentic Blackness. Rachel Topping (right) and Rikki-Richelle (left) noticed how much Black people became excluded from conversation in Beauty. As well as under-represented in the mainstream media. Taking their own charge to put their name in the list of Black-Owned Businesses.
“Our goal is to use Nappy Head Club as more than just a lifestyle brand, but also as a source of information, tools and community. For anyone who has ever felt shamed, excluded, or underserved: this is for you.”
Having their values to always be giving back. Nappy Head Club makes sure that every month they donate a portion of their sales to a charity. Not just a random one ,but a charity that they believe is doing the work that we need right now. Each month, the charity rotates, in order for them to contribute towards as many causes as possible. In January, they donated to the Black Mental Health Alliance, who’s work is focused on the health and well-being of Black people and their communities. Selling apparel, accessories, tote bags, & blankets. High quality. Only the best for Black People.
When you first set your eyes on SKNMUSE, you already feel the Black luxury radiating off of them. SKNMUSE is a strongly rooted in the tenets of African feminism body care brand. Offering an elevated self-care ritual for the modern Black Woman. Adding their name to the Black Luxury , Black-Owned Businesses. Sitting right there next to Telfar.
“We’re telling the story of Black beauty – the right way. With a vision of becoming a global house for Black luxury, SKNMUSE is creating an experience that provides a long-lasting, culturally authentic, high-end experience. “
They saw a need for better skin + body care, and use the clean-beauty practices of West-African women to bring you nourishing products that protect, heal and maintain your skin. Something that caught my eye and made me fall in love with SKNMUSE is their Nigerian origins. All natural products coming from West Africa, specially Nigeria. Even as far as trying to be sustainable as possible. Putting their green foot forward. As part of their commitment to the community and belief in grass-roots economic growth, they strive to source 70% of their ingredients from small businesses. If you want your skin to feel as soft as shea and smooth as cocoa, go check out SKNMUSE.
I recently started to use Honey Pot and already feel a different in my health. Honey Pot is taking their own stance on vaginal health. Taking the Black-Owned Businesses stamp and making their mark. Founded by Bea Dixon. The best way to describe her story is to let her tell it.
“The whole reason I started The Honey Pot Co was because I was suffering from bacterial vaginosis for months and couldn’t get relief. One night, an ancestor visited me in a dream and gifted me with a vision to heal myself. With her help, I created the Honey Pot Co to solve for what other brands wouldn’t, using the power of herbs.”
No toxins, no artificial fragrances. As well as made from organic ingredients. Maintaining pH balance. As well as recyclable and cruelty free. Honey Pot is a well rounded brand to purchase from to help with vaginal health, period health, etc.
I found this brand through Tik Tok. She a Tik Tok about her mugs and they just caught my eye. That was about a year ago and since then I’ve been following her page. Founder, Raven Nichole, has fully launched her own Black apparel store.
“Legendary Rootz was created due to a need for representation and a safe space for the black community. Our purpose is to reclaim our history and celebrate black culture through powerful apparel and accessories.”
Many Black-Owned Businesses take their own spin on things. And Raven does exactly that. One scroll through her page and it’s already such a loving atmosphere. From mugs to t-shirts, to tote bags. She has got you covered. If you really want to support Black-Owned Businesses, go check out Raven’s store. Link is below.
