Hello T.A & Co. readers, AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome to this week’s T.A & Co. Tuesday new blog post. Whether you are a new reader or a returning one, I am glad you’re here. 2022 was a year of growth and enlightenment. Many moments and memories made that are going to be remembered for a long time. Even my break from this blog, taught me a lot of life lessons that I will surely carry in to 2023. I wish I could tell every single lesson I learned ,but that’d be a whole novel. So, I will dim it down to only five.
Here are 5 valuable life lessons I’ve learned in 2022…
My top resolution for 2022 was to start putting myself first. As someone who is very selfless, I had to learn to be selfish for once in my life. And it was the best decision I made.
If you’re like me, you always have time for everyone. You spend most of your energy on others, exerting yourself, and never have any left for yourself. But little did I know and that you know, it’s okay to put yourself first. In fact, it’s crucial to live your life with such peace and purpose.
How do you expect to help everyone else when you can’t even help yourself? We are so worried about how others are doing that in the process we are neglecting ourselves. Put yourself first. Make time for yourself. Be selfish and take the time to ask “Am I okay? Am I emotionally, mentally, and physically okay to do this?”.
Stop neglecting the most important person in your life…yourself.
2. Rejection is Redirection
Some of the biggest pain I felt in 2022 was from rejection. Whether it was romantic or professional. It hit me hard because I am a person that goes all in with my emotions. And I attach to things very quickly. So, when it doesn’t pan out how I wanted or is snatched away as fast as it was given, I am left feeling so discouraged. But the life lesson I learned is that rejection is just redirection. You never know what the universe has in store for you. Your future is a question mark and maybe that job, person, or opportunity isn’t going to fit into that bigger plan. It’s okay to feel upset and frustrated.
But, when one door closes, it opens another one that is probably worth 10x more.
Never quit, though. Just because you are faced with rejection, don’t quit. Don’t let it cause doubt within yourself or strife in your mentality. This little bump in the road shouldn’t deter you from your path. It’s only a little hurdle that needs to be crossed. In order to reach the fruition of your goals and aspirations.
This is the holy grail of 2023. If there’s any life lesson to take from this post, it’s this one. All the lessons are valuable but just listen to this one very well. The self-sabotaging of 2022 will not continue into 2023. Stop blocking the blessings that are coming toward you. We are not making excuses as to why you don’t deserve this because you deserve this. We all ask for our manifestations differently, but when they come to fruition we know it. So, why are you turning it away? All that self-doubt & imposter syndrome thinking blocks your blessings. You are blocking your own successes. If this is something you struggle with, don’t worry. You and I will move past this together.
If I had to choose a theme for 2022, it’d be a change. There was so much change this past year. To the point that I would try to brush past it and pretend that nothing was changing. But this only made the change harder to accept. And later down the road, it made it harder to process it all which left me burnt out. Accepting change makes it easier to live with it. Life is never stagnant which means you as a person won’t be either.
If you found yourself here, you want to become a better version of yourself. To enter your self-growth or have some help if you’re already there. In order to do all that, you need to accept the change that is coming. Accept it with open arms and you will be surprised at who you become at the end of it. Life lessons that I will definitely carry in to 2023.
5. Everything slow to grow, is long to last
The saying “everything slow to grow is long to last” is a reminder that good things take time. Crucial life lessons that my dad taught me this past year. It’s easy to get caught up in the idea that we need to achieve our goals or reach certain milestones quickly in order to be successful. But the truth is that growth and development are often slow and steady processes that take time and patience.
This can be especially true when it comes to personal growth and self-improvement. It’s rare for big changes to happen overnight, and it’s important to be patient and persistent in our efforts to grow and improve. This means being consistent with our habits and practices, even when we don’t see immediate results.
The good news is that when we put in the time and effort to slowly and steadily grow and develop, the results are often long-lasting and sustainable. We are more likely to stick to positive habits and make lasting changes when we take things slow and steady, rather than trying to make big changes all at once.
So, the next time you feel like you’re not making progress fast enough, remember that everything slow to grow is long to last. Trust the process and be patient with yourself, and you will eventually see the fruits of your labor.
