Hello everyone and happy holidays! 2021 has had us raving about so many new beauty brands and products. Various new brands being created and familiar ones stepping up their game. Especially when it comes to skincare. Before the pandemic, skincare had a different look to it. Mostly being seen as expensive with high quality ingredients. As well as more of a luxury than a necessity. But now it can be accessible for any income range and age. Motivating affordable skincare brands to up the quality of their products. As someone with not a big budget when it comes to skincare. Affordable skincare brands is something I’m so hyped about. So much that I wanted to share with you my top 5 for the best, affordable skincare brands of 2021. This is all my opinion. I’ve personally tried products from these brands and have had great results from them.

1. KRAVEBEAUTY
The first affordable skincare is KRAVEBEAUTY. This is a vegan, sustainable, sensitive skin friendly, and inclusive friendly skincare brand. Started in 2017, KRAVEBEAUTY has made a name for themselves. With their natural ingredients such as Macha, Hemp, and many more. With each product and package they have created sustainable ways to re-use and/or recycle the container. Doing their own part to help clean up this planet.
Personally, I love this brand. My skin is super sensitive. Even the slightest touch of a new product and my skin will purge like crazy. But after using these products for now close to almost 3-4 months, my skin is so much healthier. A natural glow to my face. Less oil production. And it’s affordable for that college girl on a budget. My favorite product is their Oat So Simple Water Cream. It leaves your face with that nice dewy glow and all without the sticky residue. #1 for affordable skincare.

2. GoodMolecules
Next on the affordable skincare list is Good Molecules. I got a chance to try one product from their skincare line and that was their Discoloration Correcting Serum . To help with my dark spots. And when I tell you how well it worked. My skin did purge a bit ,but so does everyone’s when using new products on their face. I know this brand especially has been endorsed by many African American women. It’s all over Tik Tok as well. For affordable skincare brands I put this a must need. At least one product from this brand should be in your routine. Especially love how it is inclusive to all skin types and colors. I very much love to see that in a brand.
3. The Ordinary
The Ordinary is another beloved affordable skincare staple. One of the many brands to pop off during the pandemic. Mostly being known for their Niacinamide serum and their Glycolic acid exfoliant. Among other products as well. You can find these products at Ulta & Sephora. I first used the Niacinamide serum & the Hyaluronic acid serum as well. It did show some effect on my face. But not as much as the reviews raved it did. Like I always say, skincare is a personalized experience. If it worked for everyone, it may not work for you. And that’s alright. I just think for my sensitive skin, this brand was too harsh. But it is still one of the best affordable skincare brands out there.
4. Hero Cosmetics
Hero Cosmetics is a great brand. Highly known for their acne patches. Over the course of the couple years that they have been gaining more traction , they’ve put put more products. I’ve only tried the acne patches and they are the only ones I use. If you have a zit that needs to disappear overnight, just plop one of their Mighty Patch on it. Then after use their Blackhead Might Patch to avoid any dark pigmentation. Overall, this brand is so within budget. A pack of 36 little patches cost $7.99 at Target. If you need some gentle skincare, Hero Cosmetics is a great pick. I always believe that affordable skincare should be able to be diverse in their products. And Hero Cosmetics has done just that.
5. CeraVe
Last ,but not least is CeraVe. Some may say it is basic ,but it is a very well known & good quality brand. With a range of products for a range of skin types. CeraVe really blew up over this pandemic when it came to skincare. Especially the Renewing SA cleanser. Personally, I used their hydrating facial cleanser for normal to oily skin. It didn’t do much for me. I felt like it just kept my face stagnant rather than clearing it up. So, I stopped using that. But I used the facial bar soap that has Niacinamide. It’s like the SA cleanser ,but in bar soap form. And that actually showed more effect on my face than the liquid cleanser did. It is a great brand overall and there’s a reason why it’s so well beloved. If you’re starting out in skincare , this is a good brand to use.
